What pictureof God do youcarry?
Most of us do not relate to God only as He is. We also relate to the picture of Him that has formed within us.
The picture beneath the relationship
We approach God through what we expect Him to be like.
Disappointment may make Him seem distant. Fear may make Him seem unpredictable. A life built around performance may make His love feel earned. Experiences of control may leave us expecting a taskmaster rather than a Father.
These impressions can feel true because they have been with us for a long time. But familiarity does not make them accurate.
Look again through Jesus
Jesus is the clearest revelation of what God is like.
In Jesus, God moves toward people. He restores, forgives, teaches, welcomes, and tells the truth without withdrawing His love. Jesus does not soften a harsher God behind Him. He makes the Father known.
“He who has seen me has seen the Father.”

Receive a truer image
Seeing God clearly changes how you live with Him.
